This one in particular is very bold. The use of black against bright yellow makes the figure and letters stand out but also the way the words are arranged makes me believe the man pictured is really shouting these words at me.

Alan Fletcher
Here are just a few images i found by a designer called alan fletcher. The point of placing all these images on my blog is to show the sort of work im looking at and what appeals to me and catches my eye. I find these pices by fletcher very striking.

I find the use of different densities and sizes of the type very interesting in this piece. He has clearly selected which words he wants us to see straight away yet we know there is lots of jumbled, hidden messages behind.
neville brody- bounce
I love this image created by a designer called neville brody. The word bounce actually looks as if it it 'bouncing' across the page. This has been done simply by changing the size of the letters and placing them on uneven levels. The change from white to black also creates the illusion that the word moves along, from left to right, just like the ball bouncing....The change in the size of the font makes it look as if the ball is bouncing away into the distance. The vertical words are places in such a way so that they represent what they are saying;'smash it','slam it'. Its almost like a game of basketball is being played on the page, just with the words. The words are bouncing across the page and being slammed down vertically, just as the player would do with the ball. There is a really playful element to this image which is why i was so drawn to it.
